Since the inception of Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA) Anambra chapter in 1992, lots of changes and transformations has been made for the growth of the society with its founding fathers.
The revival or rebirth of SNA Anambra State chapter took place in 2009 with Prof. Clifford Nwanna as the Chariman, Chuks Obinweluozor as the vice chairman, Dr. Okey Chinwuba as the Secretary and Anthony Otikpa as the Public Relations Officer, a new fire was rekindled among members and the group membership rose from eighteen to eighty. This development was commemorated in 2010 with an exhibition titled "Rebirth". In line with the new spirit of the group, the next exhibition the same year was tagged "Growth".
In a new regime, under the succeeding leadership of Anthony Otikpa as the Chairman, Nick Anozie as Secretary and Late Nelson Igboamazu as great mobilizer of the group, more developmental strides were recorded.
Subsequently, Uchechukwu Ezeemo took over the mantle of leadership as the chairman with Chukwudi Onyendi as the secretary.
SNA Anambra continued to grow and develop, but after their tenure, we needed reinforcements for strengthening and mobilizations, hence the nomination of Prof. Clifford Nwanna to serve as the an interim coordinator, assisted by Moses Njoku with the mandate to mobilize members, build the financial capital base of the group, conduct an Annual General Meeting and general election.
Annual exhibitions forms one of the activities of this dispensation. Others include proposed mural painting and other Public arts around Alex Ekwueme square and the participation of the organization in Anambra State Festival of Arts and Culture. From March 2024 till date Moses was elected to chair the Society, with his new Excos. in recent times, there have been successful completion of several programmes including; Creation of Updated Membership database, online presence, website, participation in National Conventions, CONADEV 2023, 2024, six new patrons and three new fellows, successful hosting of South East Zonal Retreat 2025, annual exhibitions, art seminars and workshops for secondary schools, art competitions for Tertiary Students, public art at Awka Film Village and other forms of public engagements and collaborations.
